The Rushegura Gorilla Group is one of the habituated mountain gorilla families located in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Uganda.
The Rushegura group was formed after Mwirima, a strong silverback, broke away from the larger Habinyanja group in 2002 to form his own family and now being led by a dorminant Silverback Kabukojo.
Mwirima is known for being peaceful and close to humans.
The group became quickly accustomed to human presence and was opened for tourism soon after.
The group is now composed of 16 individuals, 1 Dorminant Silverback, 1 Silverback, 6 Adult Females, 3 Blackbacks, 1 Juvenile Male, 1 Juvenile Female & 3 Infant Males.
